BEFORE you do anything, ask yourself if the act is for the benefit of all beings, including yourself. If your heart says yes, do it. If it answers no, don't
DURING the act, ask again. If it still comes up yes, continue what you are doing. If not, stop.
AFTER the act is over, ask once more. If the answer is yes, fine. If no, make amends.
The point is never do anything without reflecting on it along the way. Otherwise, your conscience may catch
up with you and let you know that you've harmed others, which will cause you great suffering. If you follow this advice you have what the Buddha called "the bliss of blamelessness."
Steve is finally on his way home. He should be landing in Atlanta any time now. Apparantly Atlanta got shut down for a while. I don't know the reason. He should be back home for the evening about 1am. Then its back to Ft Hood tomorrow.
I was able to get him a body pillow and matching pillowcase to the one he got me. I also picked up two more fountains...that way he can choose which one he wants to take with him.
I got a lot of mundane stuff done today. Got some foam padding for the sofa and loveseat to go under the slip covers. Picked up some replacement mower blades since one broke. Broke down and got one of those Mr Clean reach things for the bathroom. At least I can reach the top of the shower now. At least I'm used to being vertically challanged.
He says he picked me up a tshirt as a sovenier. *smiles* That's sweet. I'm glad I was thought of.
I'm sure there are other things...but I've got writer's block at the moment.
